The history of the GRM group of schools, known for its academic excellence at primary, secondary level, dates back to the pre- independence era. The first school of the series came into being in the year 1946 under the patronage of Shri. Banwari Lal Agarwal, a leading lawyer of his time. He dedicated the school in the name of his Late father Rai Sahib Lala Gulab Rai School wa laid by the first Chief Minister of U.P., Bharat Ratan Pt.Govind Ballabh Pant.
The Gulab Rai Group started off in a very humble manner with just two rented rooms. Today the group can boast of having four large buildings. Despite the growth of its infrastructure and facilities, its basic ideals and principles have always remained a source of inspiration. The school is proud of having produced thousands of eminent persons.

GRM School is located at Nainital Road, Bareilly, in the heart of the town. It is equidistant from almost all parts of the city.
